CAFFEINATED FLAVOUR INGREDIENTS (RASPBERRY BUZZ, TROPICAL BUZZ, GREEN TEA BUZZ)

Dextrose (Glucose), Sucrose, Sodium Citrate, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Organic Flavour, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Citrate and anhydrous caffeine (70mg in a 2 serving stickpack).

Each serving is 100 calories.

For endurance workouts, mix contents of stickpack with 24 oz (700ml) of water per hour. Adjust to your personal calorie needs during training, using hunger as a guide. When it’s dialed in, you’ll feel satisfied and energetic, not hungry or full.

On hot days, keep the same calories per hour, but increase water. To use in combo with other foods, reduce Tailwind intake by the calories you’re consuming elsewhere to avoid overloading the gut. For shorter workouts (<2hr), you can use less Tailwind to taste.

Made the move to try this as I find gels are just too sweet and sickly for me (training for and completing triathlons)
Tailwind tasted great and while I only ran for 50 mins I think it suited me really well. Service was great, personalised note with my order and even removed caffeine packs for me as requested. Happy Customer! Highly recommended

Tried tailwind at the Mouth to Mouth marathon last Sunday and definitely benefited from using this. Easy to use and not too sweet. Alternated with my normal Gels and will certainly be using from now on! Excellent service as well!

Only used once but can see this could be solution to my previous race feeding woes. Really fine powder that dissolves extremely well, the resultant mix is not too sticky or sweet giving an easy to consume drink with no separate water required.

Individual servings are a great for taking them for long endurance events. Simply fill your water flask with water and steer the magic powder which will take to the finish line!

Tailwind was a recommend by long course triathlete mates. I've only used so far in training, but so far so good. Great taste, zero gut issues and best of all the simplicity of use. Would I recommend? I already have.

So impressed with tailwind. A friend recommended it to me after completing an Ironman using tailwind for nutrition. I had struggled with gels in the past as they are very sickly and hard on my stomach, but tailwind is much easier to take and tastes much lighter. Highly recommend!

I bought the 2 serving stickpacks on recommendation to help with my longer runs during my 1st marathon training. Very happy with the product. Tasty and easy to drink. My husband has been using them whilst out mountain biking and has noticed a difference in his performance so will definitely be buying more! Great customer service too.

Sodium: Maintains Fluid Balance

Sodium is needed in the body for a number of reasons, the most important for endurance athletes is its role in the maintenance of extracellular fluid volume which influences the hydration of an athlete.

It is also important for the uptake of nutrients such hexose (carbohydrate) and amino acids (protein).

During extended periods of exercise it is important that sodium levels are replenished. As the bodies sodium concentration falls ECF (extracellular fluid) falls which can have detrimental effects to the bodies cells. Physiologically this will present as dizziness and faintness.

 

Sodium Citrate: Stops Cramps

Sodium citrate is added to the Tailwind Nutrition products to act as a pH regulator. When the muscles are working for extended periods of time, muscle pH will decrease and cramps take effect. The role of sodium citrate is to delay the effects of this lowering pH and prevent the build up of lactic acid in the athletes muscles to help reduce cramps and allow them to run, cycle or row for longer.

 

Potassium: Stops Muscle Weakness

Potassium is essential for the acid-base regulation and to maintain the electrophysiology of nerves and muscles. A deficiency in potassium (caused by prolonged sweating during physical activity) can alter the electrophysiological characteristics of cell membranes causing weakness of the skeletal muscles.

 

Carbohydrates and sugar (present as glucose and sucrose): Energy Provider

Sugars and soluble carbohydrates are fundamental for providing energy for the maintenance of life. During exercise sugar in its simplest form of glucose is fundamental for the ease of metabolism into expendable energy.

 

Calcium: Strong bones and Muscle contraction

Calciums primary role is structural, around 99% of calcium is found in bones and teeth. A prolonged calcium deficiency will increase the risk of low bone mineral density and stress fractures in athletes. It is also an essential mineral for muscle function and contraction as well as being essential for synthesis and breakdown of glycogen fuel stores in your muscles.

 

Magnesium: Relaxes Muscles

Magnesium works closely with calcium, while calcium is important for the contraction of your muscles, magnesium helps them relax. Therefore, it is clear how important the combination of both calcium and magnesium is for healthy muscle function.
