You may recall when we notified you of a price rise we had to put through earlier this year due to increased costs from Tailwind Nutrition in the US as a result of “continued rises in ingredient costs resulting from the tariff war gave rise to price rises notified to us in November last year ranging from 7 to 19%”. We did not pass on the larger increases in the hope that common sense would prevail in Washington, but this doesn’t seem likely in the near term.

I have been importing Tailwind into the UK for a little over 11 years now and it’s been a huge pleasure to serve the endurance athlete community.

I’d like to personally thank our customers for the support we have received over the past decade, many a time I’ve been humbled by the feedback we have received.

Tailwind remains a wonderful product and has fuelled me through countless ultras around the world but there are always choices to be made in life. The choice I am now having to make is whether to pass on the up to 19% rises arising since the Tariff War was begun by the occupant of The White House.

We investigated manufacture in the UK to bring prices down to what they were in 2024 but, although we were fully committed to this approach, it ultimately wasn’t possible to take this forward as it did not fit in with the US Founders’ plans.

My involvement with Tailwind was never built on financial motives and it is anathema to me to ask customers to pay more because I was unable to secure product at a reasonable price.

I started my first business whilst doing my ‘A’ Levels and have learned a lot in various enterprises over subsequent decades, knowing when to quit is one.

I have had many fun times being Mr Tailwind in the UK, but the time has come for me to cease importing Tailwind. There will be another distributor appointed to supply the UK in the coming months but it is regrettably time to sell off the remaining stock in our warehouse and prepare for a new  opportunity within the endurance nutrition arena.

Tailwind Nutrition US will be making an announcement shortly as to how Tailwind will be distributed going forward, but in the meantime, we will be selling off our current inventory of Tailwind.
